The
13th R.E.A.L Fun camp was held from 21st~24th August. The response was
overwhelming. A total of 700 children from ages 4~9 gathered in various
CEC locations to have four days of fun and “edventure” [education
through adventure].
What is Camp:
Conducted
during holiday breaks, children gathered in CEC Learning Centres for 4
days of fun, educational projects and “edventure” trips to various
nature-parks and sometimes, organized shows.
The
cost of the camp varies with the contents and length [usually 4 days]
of the camp. The fee for the August camp was RM 210 per child.
CEC children can invite their friends & relatives to join the camp.
Anyone between the ages of 4~9, subjected to approval of the application.
CEC kids receive circulars from the schools inviting them to join the camp, twice a year.
There will also be banners and flyers distributed to selected residential areas.For non-CEC kids, you may call up the telephone numbers indicated, fill up the application forms, etc.
Objectives:
Inculcate good values and good habits in children in their everyday life.
Create awareness and love for nature and environment.
Discover the various multiple intellingences [talents & interests] in your children.
What Happens:
On the first day, ice breaking and getting children to socialize.
Through various activities and projects, the children learned to work individually as well as in teams.
Activities:
handicrafts like pencil holders, etc
making of “hoopsters”, making them fly. Understanding why they fly through lessons in Science & Experiments.
visit to A’Fomosa Animal World Safari, a day of fun, bus ride, educational talks on nature and environment, animal & wild-wild west showtime, visit to zoo & and other things.

Children met new friends and learned to socialize.
Valuable knowledge and experiences are learned during the nature and wild life sessions; some of which will be remembered for life.
Debriefing sessions guide children to move steadily toward good values; adopting loving and caring instincts for nature and environment.
