Experiential learning. Fun filled and educational!
Who went:
Similar to the McDonald’s field trip in March 2006, some 3,000 kids
from 21 CEC centres in the Klang Valley were guided through the
Beryl's Chocolate Factory situated in Sri Kembangan, Selangor.
What happens:
The
children were given a briefing and shown a video clip on the
manufacturing processes in their operation room.
A
representative from Beryl’s guided them around the plant. You should
see the thrill of the kids’ faces when they saw the way chocolates were
moulded into all shapes and sizes. They also witnessed the quality
control and finally packaging processes.
Take-home benefits:
For all the children, this was their first visit to a factory. They related to very well because chocolate is every child’s best treat. Now they got to see and experience how this lovely thing was made.
Yet for some, the dream of ‘seeing’ themselves in various key positions in the factory began here. Who knows, one of them might see himself/herself owning the factory!
We can be sure, for the next couple of weeks, the kids will tell his/her friends about the extraordinary experience.
Kids were also given goody bags to take home.
