Annual Sports Day: R.E.A.L Kids Subang Zone Sports Day
Date: 8th May 2010
The Subang Zone Sports Day was recently held at the MPSJ football field on Saturday, 8 May 2010. It was a combined event comprising centres from USJ 12, SS 19, USJ 2, and USJ 9.
Approximately 700 students from Pre-1, 2 & 3 participated in this event. The weather that evening was cloudy with a slight drizzle but eventually the drizzling stopped, allowing us to start proceedings a little earlier. Not for the first time, our VIP guest was none other than Yang Berhormat Hannah Yeoh, the Subang Jaya State Assemblywoman who officially declared this event open.
The theme for the Sports Day this time was “Go Green with REAL”. The event proper began with a march past led by the Boys Brigade, followed by the centre participants. The children and teachers then sang ‘Negaraku’, which preceded a sing-and-dance performance to the tune of the REAL Kids song and a Mother Nature song.
All games were prepared in line with the theme - such a sloughing, sowing, watering, and harvesting. Some children even came dressed in costumes representing Mother Nature. Medals were then presented to the winners of each game and light refreshments were duly served to the children. Overall, the whole event was deemed a success as everybody had an enjoyable and meaningful evening.
On a separate note, the Sports Day for pre-nursery children (aged 2-3 years old) from the USJ 12 centre was held separately on 26 May 2010. It was conducted at a badminton court behind the kindergarten. Although this was a closed event, there were however a few parents who turned up to cheer for their little ones.
